The Grassroots Assembly for Child Care is an annual, regional event that convenes parents, providers, caregivers, organizers, and allies committed to advancing child care as a racial, economic, and gender justice issue!
- 2022: West Coast Grassroots Assembly in Albuquerque, New Mexico
- 2023: East Coast Grassroots Assembly in Washington, D.C.
- 2024: Midwest Grassroots Assembly in Minneapolis, Minnesota
- 2025: Location in the South coming soon!
Leaders have the opportunity to connect, learn, build power together, and discuss strategies to move forward across states through an aligned national strategy.
The 2024 Grassroots Assembly took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was cohosted by ISAIAH and Kids Count on Us.
Nearly 100 impacted families and caregivers, child care providers, organizers, and allies convened to strategize and build power together.
States represented included North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana.
