We hope you are taking good care as we prepare for the hard work ahead of us. Like many of you, we are still reeling, despairing, and grieving while also planning, dreaming, and deepening our commitment to transforming not just our child care system in America, but the culture of our country as a whole.
Here’s what we know: our movement holds tremendous power. Child care is essential and the work that makes all other work happen. We stand united and ready to defend the funding we have for child care, and will continue to organize and build power to fight for the child care system that our families, kids, providers, and economy needs.
Some things giving us hope and bringing us joy:
💛 “I believe that all organizing is science fiction – that we are shaping the future we long for and have not yet experienced.” ― Adrienne Maree Brown, Pleasure Activism: The Politics of Feeling Good 🩵 “Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.” ―Tȟatȟáŋka Íyotake, Chief Sitting Bull, Hunkpapa Lakota 💚 “There is nothing new under the sun, but there are new suns.” — Octavia E. Butler |
