Take Action

Emergency funding for child care is expiring on September 30, 2024.

Because of obstruction and delay tactics by certain members of Congress, the bulk of essential child care relief dollars expired in 2023. On September 30, 2024, an additional $15 billion is set to expire. This will impact families who are struggling in this economy, puts child care providers at risk of shutting down, and puts children at risk of losing access to care.

Contact your elected officials and ask them to prioritize funding child care as they debate emergency funding and annual spending bills! Addressing our country’s child care crisis is more urgent now than ever before.

By taking action today you join a movement of other parents and caregivers, providers, and community leaders who are:

  • Contacting elected officials and leadership to encourage additional investment in child care
  • Staying involved with other future actions that build power: attending a town hall, writing a letter to the editor about child care, engaging your community, etc.
