Child Care for Every Family Network Slams Senate Republicans’ Budget Resolution: “A Cruel Betrayal to Families”

Senate Republicans passed a budget resolution that is a cruel betrayal to families across the country.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Child Care for Every Family Network opposed Senate Republicans’ budget resolution, which was adopted by a vote of 52-48. The budget resolution is the latest step to enact the Trump Administration’s cruel agenda to cut the programs families depend on to fund mass deportations and handouts for billionaire donors.

Andrea Paluso and Erica Gallegos, Co-Executive Directors of the Child Care for Every Family Network, released the following statement:

“Senate Republicans passed a budget resolution that is a cruel betrayal to families across the country.

“This resolution tees-up a reconciliation bill that would cut the programs that families depend on—including their health care, nutrition benefits, and child care—all to give tax breaks to massive corporations and their ultra-billionaire donor friends like Elon Musk.

“But the cruelty doesn’t stop there. Republicans are also working to funnel billions into expanding a mass deportation effort that is terrorizing families and children across the country–and will deeply impact the child care workforce, at least 22% of whom are immigrants.”

“We will not let this stand. We will keep fighting back against this absolutely craven effort to steal from the families who are struggling the most to give handouts to the richest people in this country and to violate the human rights of our immigrant communities.”
